Solutions for parents
The speed at which the technology progresses pushes us to always keep ourselves « at the right level ». In the future, some trades will disappear, others will develop, and it will be necessary to be able to train quickly to adapt to new activities. The adults of tomorrow must be able to learn, be autonomous and lively, capable of acquiring new skills easily.
They will have more choice, more chances to find the place that interests them in life.
Yet education in France is not doing well. It has been analyzed as very oriented towards the transmission of theoretical information and can be pragmatic (see the statistical study « national Education in Figures » on éducation.gouv.fr) : The majority of baccalaureates are general, technical or vocational baccalaureate remaining “in the background”. There are many abandonments/exclusions from the education system: according to the figures of the Ministry of Education – France comes in 16th place among European countries, with 8.8% of “early leavers” (having stopped studying without finishing a high school cycle).
Other studies mention significant decreases in language proficiency (reading/writing, spelling in particular), and mathematics (the Trend International Mathematics and Science Study Survey of 2015) attributed to France, from tests made on fourth and fifth graders, the last position in Europe.
The OECD regularly establishes an international classification called “Adult Skills Assessment”, which only ranks 21st!
Finally, the level of results of education in France would decline. According to the PISA study (Program for International Student Assessment), its score would have dropped from 511 to 496.
“My son no longer wants to open a book… ”, “ … (My daughter), weeps by telling me that she does not understand in math class, but her teacher can not help her and reproaches her lack of concentration… ”, “My nine-year-old boy in fourth grade doesn’t want to go to school anymore…”, “ My teenager gets angry almost every day..”
Parents’ concerns with our members confirm these bad numbers.
« Tomorrow’s illiterates will not be those who cannot read, but those who have not learned to learn. ». Alvin Toffler (1970)
This has led many parents to turn to school remedial courses, to give their child more chance, hoping to compensate for the shortcomings of teaching.
An ideal education should allow everyone::
- To have a strong autonomy in their learning : to be able to learn by oneself.
- To be able to locate, understand, evaluate the information.
- To be able to put into practice (use) this information.
- To be able to collaborate with others, express themselves, organize (or even create or direct) an activity.
- To define and choose its favourite activities and exercise them (if possible).
I – Solutions
These objectives are precisely achieved with the Ron Hubbard’s Study technology.
This Study technology is not an umpteenth « complex psychosocial dissertation » on education.
These are precise methods, a set of simple principles and techniques, full of common sense, easily usable, which allow the student to understand, to think freely, and to use (even develop) a subject.
Ron Hubbard has assumed that it is not the memorization of a large amount of information that will achieve these objectives, but above all, the real understanding of the basic principles and information, as well as a practical implementation, in the subject studied.
II – Concretely
The “tools” that we provide for Parents:
- Documentation
- Conferences
- Workshops, such as :
How to promote the confidence and success of your child
Giving back to your child the pleasure of learning
Isolate and solve « barriers to study »
III – Results
Our goals are achieved when we have passed on to a parent :
- A safe foundation that allows him to support his child.
- Specific methods that he can in turn pass on to his child so that he can easily study on his own any subject.
Through the application of Study Technology, any student can acquire and apply the knowledge he has studied on a chosen topic.
